Motherwell manager Stephen Robinson has hailed his team after a 2-0 win away to Livingston.
Storm Aidan did its best to dampen the Well’s day but they could not be stopped. First-half goals from Callum Lang and Tony Watt sealed a brilliant victory that lifts the Steelmen into joint-sixth.

It was a fourth win and clean sheet in five Premiership matches for Motherwell, with new goalkeeper Aaron Chapman not seriously tested throughout the match.
“The good results have been built on a solid back line and Declan Gallagher and Mark O’Hara and the whole back four were outstanding,” said Robinson.
“And at times when we needed it we had real quality up front, especially our first goal, and it probably could have been three or four at half-time, but the second half was a real disciplined professional performance.

“We managed the game really well and I think that’s probably what we are doing better than what we did in the early part of the season. This surface is hard to play on at the best of times, but when you put the wind machine in here as well, it’s really difficult.
“But I thought our boys showed really good composure in the first half, got the ball down and played when it was on and defended when we had to defend. It was a complete performance from us.”
What’s pleasing for Robinson is that there’s still plenty to improve upon and plenty to add to his squad, Devante Cole heading off with a tight hamstring the only real negative from their Livingston success.

“We’ve got lots to work on and lots of players to come back,” said Robinson. “Hopefully in the next few weeks we’ll have Liam Grimshaw back, Ricki Lamie and Bevis Mugabi back from his shoulder injury.
“Further down the line we’ll have Jake Carroll as well which then gives us a really strong squad. These next few games we just have to try and get through. The one before the international break is tough then we’ll see where we are numbers-wise.”
