Dario Zanatta says it’s important for Partick Thistle to focus on the positives after a 1-0 win over Penicuik.

A goal inside the opening minute from Reece Cole was enough to secure a place in the Scottish Cup fourth round. It wasn’t an easy task though as Penicuik pushed them all the way.

Thistle have been rewarded with a home tie against Celtic in the next round. They currently sit bottom of the Championship after a disappointing start to the season.

Zanatta insists though that confidence is key after a difficult start to the Championship, whilst also stating his preferred position out on the park after a central role in recent weeks.

“We’re into the next round which is what we set up to do before the game,” Zanatta said. Fair play to Penicuik, their fans were well up for it and they did themselves justice.

“I’m looking to build a bit more confidence. The gaffer has been working on my position and if he feels like I can play central then great, but I most prefer playing on the wing as everyone knows.

“It’s three wins on the bounce for us at the moment so we can only take confidence from that.

“We have an important week coming up and if we can get some more wins then this performance will be forgotten about.”
