Aberdeen team news vs Rangers confirmed as Graeme Shinnie returns from start

Aberdeen face perhaps their most important game of the season so far as Rangers visit Pittodrie this evening.

The Dons and Gers share a fierce rivalry that goes back decades and nothing would please the Aberdeen supporters more than stretching the gap between them and Rangers to a mammoth nine points.

Aberdeen are still unbeaten in the Premiership after nine games and remain locked on points with Celtic who host Dundee in Glasgow tonight.

And by beating Rangers under the lights, it would be safe to confirm Aberdeen are indeed in a title race with Celtic and Celtic only this season.

Defeat for Philippe Clement’s men would be catastrophic and would pile massive pressure on a manager already losing faith amongst the Rangers fans.

Can Aberdeen send Rangers deeper into the doldrums this evening? Here’s the starting XI Jimmy Thelin has picked to do just that as outlined by Not The Old Firm below.
