Aberdeen vs St Johnstone team news confirmed as Duk drops to bench

Aberdeen need to get back to winning ways if they are to keep their grip on second place in the Premiership.

Jimmy Thelin’s side have only taken two points from the last 12 available, draws on the road against Hibs and Hearts.

The other two games have resulted in defeats to St Mirren and Celtic as their unbeaten start to the Premiership season came crashing to a halt.

They can say goodbye to any talk of a title challenge as they now sit seven points behind the Hoops, who also have a game in hand.

But second could still be a realistic possibility for Aberdeen if they can arrest the recent slide. Rangers are now breathing down their necks after moving to within four points, again with a game in hand.

St Johnstone’s form hasn’t been much better and they have just one win and four defeats from their last five.

Simo Valakari did manage a slight ‘new manager bounce’ but that has fallen away again and the Perth Saints are just three points off the bottom.

It means two of the league’s out of form sides go up against each other at Pittodrie this afternoon and Not The Old Firm has the team news for you below.
