There was more friendly action taking place on Tuesday as teams continue their pre-season schedules ahead of the upcoming League Two, League One and Championship seasons.
Kerr McInroy was impressing for Dunfermline after joining from Celtic hours previous, Hearts won at the Oriam with the return of Peter Haring and Ayr United bounced back from weekend defeat.

With plenty to look at, here are NTOF’S picks of the best friendly action on Tuesday.
Hearts 3-0 Falkirk
Starting with the Jambos, they eventually got a 3-0 victory over their League One opponents. The Bairns hit the post a couple of times but Hearts got the win. Perhaps the most important thing was the return of Haring, the influential midfielder taking to the pitch for the first time since May 2019.
St Mirren XI 0-6 Ayr United
After a defeat to League Two Stirling Albion in their last pre-season friendly, Mark Kerr’s side earned a morale-boosting victory over a St Mirren XI. Michael Moffat got a hat-trick, whilst a trialist and new signing Joe Chalmers also got on the scoresheet.

Spartans 0-3 Dunfermline
Celtic prospect McInroy sealed a season-long move to the club he supported as a boy just a few hours before the Pars’ next friendly against Lowland League Spartans. He appeared from the bench to inspire Stevie Crawford’s side to a 3-0 win.
Alloa Athletic 3-1 Stranraer
The Wasps returned to action yesterday and got off with a win. Goals from Alan Trouten, Liam Buchanan and Cameron O’Donnell cancelled out a stunning equaliser from Andy Stirling.
Cove Rangers 0-1 Dundee
The third game in a week for the Dee, James McPake’s side got another win during their pre-season preparations. A goal from Paul McGowan five minutes from time sealed a victory.

Queen of the South 2-1 Annan Athletic
Allan Johnston’s side finally returned to Palmerston last night during a 2-1 win over Annan. A game originally due to be played last week, this one had to be postponed due to an Annan COVID-19 outbreak. But goals from Tommy Goss and a deflected Connor Shields effort handed QOTS a happy homecoming.
