Aberdeen boss Jimmy Thelin hailed substitutes Shayden Morris and Peter Ambrose for their part in breaking down Dundee United to earn yet another win in the league.
The pair were brought on in the second-half after the Dons struggled to make their way past a resolute United side in the opening period of the game.
Morris was a constant threat down the left-hand side for Aberdeen as his pace, directness and ability to fire deadly balls into the box troubled the Arabs right after the interval.
The score remained 0-0 however, but it was Ambrose who leapt from the bench after 82 minutes to score what proved to be the clincher just a few moments later.
Thelin’s substitutions at Celtic Park last weekend turned the game against the Hoops on its head and there was a similar impact at Pittodrie on Saturday night.
Asked by Premier Sports if this is something he works on, Thelin replied that he is keen to use the whole depth of his squad to get results.
And he went on to single out Morris and Ambrose by justifying why they were brought on to change the outcome of the encounter.

Shayden Morris and Peter Ambrose the Aberdeen heroes
The Swede said post-match: “We have to be clear, the players have different skills and characteristics. So we have some ideas of how we want to play but we have to use the players who can contribute as good as possible to the team.
“And Shayden is really good one against one and Peter has been good in the sessions over the last weeks now and deserves some minutes and did an amazing goal.
“But everybody deserves it for how they try and how they push and how they believe in each other, that’s the most important thing.
“And the emotions with the supporters today at Pittodrie was so lovely in the end. So yeah, good emotions.”
What’s next for Aberdeen?
Aberdeen are now three points clear of Celtic at the top of the Premiership table after nine games played, although the Hoops play Motherwell on Sunday.
It’s a massive week for Thelin who now must prepare for a mouthwatering clash at Pittodrie against Rangers – and it’s been well documented how they have struggled so far this season.
Beating Philippe Clement’s team really would signal Aberdeen’s serious intentions of challenging for the league crown come May and splitting the Old Firm.
They then have Celtic again next weekend in the Premier Sports Cup semi-final at Hampden and victory would see them just one win away from lifting their first major trophy since 2014.
