Hibs won for the first time since September as they downed Motherwell at Fir Park.
David Gray had been under huge pressure to deliver a second victory of the Premiership season for the Hibees but did so convincingly in Lanarkshire.
Junior Hoilett opened the scoring after 26 minutes when he volleyed into an empty net after a tremendous cross from Nicky Cadden.
Boos started to ring out around Fir Park as the home crowd grew frustrated at their team’s performance and unwillingness to get the ball forward.
Their afternoon was made worse when Hibs went 2-0 up through Mykola Kukharevych at a corner. Elie Youan flicked the ball on and a scramble ensued.
But Kukharevych was on hand to strike into the net and the Hibees were two goals ahead at half-time.
Hibs fans who travelled over to Motherwell certainly did not expect their side to score three goals without reply – but that’s exactly what transpired.
Some great work by Dwight Gayle was followed by a Josh Campbell strike and with that, it was game set and match for the men from Leith.
For Motherwell, it was desperately disappointing result and performance as their inconsistency this season continued.

Kilmarnock & Dundee draw again
Kilmarnock and Dundee played out a fifth draw in eight games between the two sides as the Ayrshire side hit back to earn a point.
Dundee got off to a great start and were the better team throughout the first-half, but they couldn’t capitalise with a goal.
However, they managed to open the scoring in the second-half through Lyle Cameron’s great finish.
Kilmarnock responded well though and it was substitute Bobby Wales who netted brilliantly as the game ended 1-1.
Controversy as Dundee United beat St Mirren
Dundee United’s excellent start to the season continued as they went four points clear of Motherwell in 4th place with victory over St Mirren.
It was 0-0 up until the 79th minute when United were awarded a penalty after a VAR check, much to the annoyance of the visitors – Kevin Holt converted from 12 yards.
Marcus Fraser was sent off in bizarre circumstances for St Mirren in stoppage time before the Terrors made their three points safe via Emmanuel Adegboyega’s finish.
Ross County thumped by Celtic
Ross County were soundly beaten 5-0 at Parkhead as Celtic’s first-half performance blew the Staggies away in Glasgow.
Don Cowie’s men were always going to be up against it and that proved to be the case. Celtic scored all five of their goals before the interval and it leaves County 8th in the Premiership.
