10-man Kilmarnock once again shot themselves in the foot as Ross County took advantage of Liam Donnelly’s red card to take all three points in Dingwall.

After an unsettled opening period to the game, Killie managed to get a foothold and dominated the latter stages of the first-half.

They got their deserved reward after 39 minutes when defender Corrie Ndaba fired a 20-yard strike into the bottom corner of Ross Laidlaw’s goal.

It was a terrific hit by the former Ipswich Town youngster as Derek McInnes‘ side went into the interval leading the contest.

You’d have thought Kilmarnock would have learned their lesson regarding discipline having already received a whole plethora of red cards this season.

But alas, it seemed they had not. Donnelly’s quick-fire double yellow card set Killie on the back foot after 60 minutes and only moments later, Ross County were level.

Jordan White was the scorer and manager Don Cowie started to sniff blood. He made a couple of attacking alterations and his side, understandably, proceeded to control the game.

Their pressure was eventually too much for Killie to handle but they did receive a touch of fortune when Joe Wright’s own goal put the Dingwall outfit in front.

Kilmarnock thought they would have to see the final few minutes out with nine men when Wright was issued a straight red by referee Matthew MacDermid.

But the tackle was only deemed worthy of a yellow after a VAR review, which in the end was the correct decision.

Ross County took all three points on the day and moved up to 7th in the Premiership with Kilmarnock moving down to 9th.

St Johnstone earn dramatic win at Dundee

Nicky Clark was the hero for St Johnstone as his winner was enough to secure victory at Dens Park.

It’s two wins in a row now in the league for the Saints as the appointment of Simo Valakari as their new boss starts to bear fruit.

Dundee actually took the lead through fan favourite Simon Murray in the first-half. However, St Johnstone replied via Graham Carey’s 63rd minute effort to level things up.

It looked set to end honours even but the Perth Saints had other ideas. Nicky Clark netted from close range to send the away fans into raptures at Dens Park.

However, they were made to wait for confirmation as a lengthy VAR check delayed the celebrations. But the goal eventually was awarded to give Valakari’s men another victory.

St Johnstone have now risen into the top six after 10 games as 8th-placed Dundee lose their fifth league game of the season.
