Aberdeen skipper Graeme Shinnie is vowing to do all he came to help the Dons reach the Scottish Cup Final, even though he is suspended for the semi-final against Celtic.

Shinnie misses the semi-final for the second year in a row. He was suspended for last season’s 3-0 loss to Motherwell.

Despite his absence, Shinnie is still aiming to play a part in a potential Dons victory.

“I’ll stay in the team hotel the night before, I’ll be in the dressing room. How much it helps, I don’t know” he told the Press and Journal.

“People use motivation in different ways but I’ll try my best to help the boys out because I can’t do it on the pitch.”

Shinnie will undeniably be a huge miss for the Dons against the Scottish Cup holders. His battle with Scott Brown would arguably have defined the game.

Now the Dons must look to find a way to beat Celtic without one of their most important players. However, the absence of Shinnie could act as motivation for the team.

Beating Celtic without Shinnie would be a huge boost for the Dons. It would give them plenty of confidence for the cup final.

It would also be a great way for Shinnie to possibly end his Dons career, leading the team out in a cup final.
