Aberdeen boss hints at return v Hibs for in-demand Dons star

Aberdeen manager Stephen Glass looks set to welcome in-demand defender Calvin Ramsay back into the side tonight as he ends a two-month stint on the sidelines – with the Dons boss hinting the teenager could even start at Easter Road against Hibs.

Ramsay has been out of action since suffering a thigh injury in the 1-0 defeat by Hibs in October but Glass admits he’s “got a chance.”

Tonight’s Premiership clash will be Shaun Maloney’s first in charge of Hibs as Aberdeen look to continue their recent resurgence and put a dampener on his Easter Road debut.

Glass confirmed the 18-year-old has beenback training for a while as he suggested he could come straight back into the starting XI tonight.

“Calvin has got a chance,” Glass said [P&J]

“He’s trained the last couple of weeks, which has given us an opportunity to see him.

“It’s given us a choice, so that’s how close he is – whether he starts or not.”

Ramsay’s impressive performances for Aberdeen has seen the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United, Everton, West Ham and Leicester City credited with an interest in the Scotland youth international.

While he is under contract until the summer of 2024, Aberdeen expect there to be bids made for Ramsay as clubs try to lure him away from the Dons.
