Dundee welcome Celtic to Dens Park this afternoon in the first of two Scottish Premiership games today – and the starting XIs have been confirmed ahead of kick off.

Dee boss James McPake has to do without Cillian Sheridan after the Irishman underwent surgery on a ruptured Achillies while Leigh Griffiths is ineligible to face his parent club under SPFL rules.

Shaun Byrne and Alex Jakubiak also miss out as they continue their recovery from injury while Jordan McGhee has a knee problem that is being nursed through to the international break.

The hosts have a woeful record against Celtic, failing to win any of their last 33 league meetings against them, with their last league triumph over the Hoops coming back in May 2001, when they secured a 2-0 win under former boss Ivano Bonetti.

Dundee’s last outing saw them beat St Mirren 1-0 as they try to climb up the table – and with seven points from the last 12, McPake’s side appear to be making a real go of trying to get out of relegation danger.

McPake has named two changes to the side that started last weekend as Sheridan and Max Anderson make way for Christie Elliot and Danny Mullen.

Here are how the teams line up at Dens Park this afternoon as Dundee face Celtic in the Scottish Premiership:

Dundee: Legzdins, Kerr, Marshall, Sweeney, Mullen, McGowan, Ashcroft, Elliott, McMullan, Anderson, Adam
Substitutes: Lawlor, Fontaine, McCowan, Panter, Cummings, Lamb

Celtic: Hart, Ralston, Carter-Vickers, Welsh, Juranovic, Bitton, McGregor, Abada, Turnbull, Jota, Kyogo
Substitutes: Bain. SCales, Giakoumakis, McCarthy, Johnston, Forrest, Montgomery
