Hearts boss Craig Levein has opened up on what his players must improve on in order to win Sunday’s Edinburgh derby against Hibernian.
He has demanded that the team improve on their ‘energy and positioning’ following last week’s 3-1 loss to Rangers.
“We’ve gone over the footage and looked at what we could do better” he revealed to the Edinburgh Evening News.
“Some of it is easily fixable”
“There were two things: Energy and positioning. Some of it is easily fixable, but I was more irritated by the fact we didn’t run as much or as hard as Rangers did.”
It will be interesting to see if Hearts improve in their showing against Hibs. They were very poor against Rangers, as Levein has indicated.
Improve on last performance
They will need to improve on that performance against Hibs, particularly as the Easter Road side are currently in a good run of form.
A win for Hearts would move them above their Edinburgh rivals in the table, whilst a defeat would leave them five points behind.
It will be tough for Hearts to make up such a deficit in the last three games of the season, therefore it is vital that they don’t lose the game.
If the players have worked on the problems that Levein identified then the Tynecastle club could well pull off a result at Easter Road. But only time will tell.
