Hibs are in Scottish Premiership action against Hearts on Tuesday night – and it’s a huge game for both sides.

Jack Ross’ team are trying to close the gap on third-placed Motherwell, and victory over the Jambos can take them to within just two points of them.

For Hearts, three points at Easter Road would see them leapfrog Hamilton, who have a tough game against Rangers on Wednesday.

In terms of results this season it’s one win apiece for Hibs and Hearts, with Hearts winning 2-1 at Easter Road in September and Hibs claiming a 2-0 victory at Tynecastle on Boxing Day.

One man who is particularly looking forward to the occasion is ex-Hibees striker Grant Holt, who took to Twitter on Tuesday morning.

He wrote: “Looking forward to the Edinburgh derby tonight. Of course I’m backing the mighty @HibernianFC.”

The former star included a video clip of the goal he scored against the Jambos in the Scottish Cup back in 2017, which the Hibees won 3-1 to reach the quarter-final.

Holt received a reply from his former teammate John McGinn, who couldn’t help but laugh at his celebration.

He wrote ‘Forgot about that dab’, along with an accompanying laughing emoji.

Form favours Hibs

Hibs will head into tonight’s game full of confidence having gone unbeaten in their last five matches.

Ross’ side have hit 15 goals over the course of those games as well, and Hearts – who have lost John Souttar to injury – are going to have to be solid at the back if they’re to have any chance of getting maximum points.

Hibs did lose at home to the Jambos earlier in the season though, and will perhaps have that in the back of their minds ahead of tonight’s 7.45pm kick-off .
