Hearts and Hibs’ team sheets are in at Tynecastle as the Edinburgh pair look to earn three Scottish Premiership points in the first city derby of the season.
Liverpool loanee Ben Woodburn is selected by Hearts manager Robbie Neilson, with new signing Barrie McKay named on the bench. Chris Cadden returns from injury for Hibs but midfielder Jake Doyle-Hayes misses out.
Neilson said of the game: “It’s been a good start but what’s happened in the last six weeks doesn’t really matter. It’s all about what happens when it kicks off. We need to find a way to win the game. It doesn’t matter how you win it, it’s about winning a derby. It’s so important for the fanbase, the club and also for the players.”
Hibs winger Martin Boyle added: “It doesn’t come any bigger than this. We’re both at the top of the table which hasn’t happened for a while so it spices the game up even more.
“It’s fantastic for the city. I think everybody’s looking forward to the occasion. The fans will be coming out in their numbers so it will be pretty lively. Hopefully the game doesn’t disappoint.”
Here are both XI’s at Tynecastle. The pair last met in the Scottish Cup semi-final last October, with then-Championship side Hearts coming out on top at Hampden.
