The teamlines are in at Easter Road as Hibs host Arsenal in an exciting pre-season friendly for the cinch Premiership club.

Jack Ross’ side are preparing for their UEFA Europa Conference League qualifiers, which begins next week. Having faced EFL duo Accrington Stanley and Stoke City last week, a step up in quality comes in the form of Mikel Arteta’s English Premier League outfit Arsenal.

He picks a strong team with Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang up top. Ross meanwhile has regulars like Martin Boyle and Kevin Nisbet in his XI, with Matt Macey in goals for Hibs starting against his former club. Josh Doig – a reported Arsenal transfer target – and Christian Doidge miss out.

The match will be played in front of 2,000 fans at Easter Road, the first time supporters have attended the stadium since 2020. Ross says it’s a boost: “It’s been long overdue and they’re very welcome. It would’ve been great to reward more of the supporters with the opportunity to come back into the stadium though.

“I know it’s a relatively small number in the grand scheme of things, but it’ll change the dynamic of the game. It’ll be great for our players, some of whom haven’t played in front of the Hibs supporters and done very well for the club, so I know they’re very much looking forward to that.”
