Motherwell host Celtic at Fir Park this afternoon in the first of two Scottish Premiership fixtures today – and the starting XIs have been confirmed ahead of kick-off at 1.30pm.
Graham Alexander’s side are looking to close the gap on Hearts in third place but have yet to pick up a win so far in 2022 in 90 minutes.
Having lost both meetings between the two sides so far, the hosts need to be at their very best if they are to take anything from a Celtic side buoyed by their Old Firm win in midweek.
Infact, you need to go back to 2018 for the last time Motherwell didn’t lose to Celtic – Danny Johnson’s late equaliser secured a share of the spoils in a 1-1 draw at Fir Park in December 2018.
A draw in their previous outing, a 1-1 with St Mirren in Paisley, saw Motherwell keep in touch with Hearts in third place, although the Jambos hold a ten-point lead over the Steelmen.
As kick-off approaches, both Motherwell and Celtic are going through their final preparations as team news is confirmed.
