Hibs will take on Rangers this weekend in what will be their first away clash of the league season.

They come into the game off the back of a slender 1-0 home win on the opening day against St Mirren.

Whilst the three points is all that matters, Paul Heckingbottom will be keen to see an improvement in performance at Ibrox. They’ll need one if they are to take anything away from this tough fixture.

Here’s who we think will start for the Hibs.

The starting XI

In goals will be Ofir Marciano, who recently spoke to the Edinburgh Evening News about how much he loves this fixture.

At right-back will be Steven Whittaker. Hibs have confirmed Tom James will miss weeks of action with an ankle problem, so youngster Sean Mackie will come in at left-back to fix that problem.

In midfield will be Josh Vela and Stevie Mallan, with in-form Scott Allan playing in his influential number 10 role.

Daryl Horgan and Joe Newell will be on the right and left flanks respectively. Heckingbottom doesn’t have many options in the winger department, so Horgan and Newell are automatic picks at the moment.

Up front will be Florian Kamberi, who will look to open his Premiership tally at Ibrox.

Overall there are two changes from the side that faced St Mirren, both in defence. Here’s our starting XI in list form.

GK- Ofir Marciano

RB- Steven Whittaker

CB- Darren McGregor

CB- Paul Hanlon

LB- Sean Mackie

CM- Josh Vela

CM- Stevie Mallan

RM- Daryl Horgan
