Motherwell boss Stephen Robinson has plenty of confidence in his young team. The Steelmen have won six league games in a row. But their excellent run of form faces the ultimate test at Celtic Park on Sunday.
Robinson believes that having so many young players in his team for the trip to the Premiership leaders could be a benefit to his side.
“They go there with a freshness and the young mentality of having no fear,” Robinson told the Herald.
“They don’t have loads of respect and I mean that in the best possible way. They just go there and try to play football. I think they can handle it, but we need to perform to the same levels.”
Interestingly, not only have Motherwell won their last six league games in a row, Celtic have also won six in a row. It is a battle of the form teams.
One thing that could be to Motherwell’s benefit is the tiredness factor. Celtic played for almost an hour with ten men against Valencia on Thursday night. That could play into Motherwell’s hands.
The likes of David Turnbull and Jake Hastie could have a field day against a tiring Celtic if they are on their game. A lot will depend on Celtic’s performance. But this looks like Motherwell’s best chance of getting a result at Celtic Park in years.
