Hearts host bottom-placed Dundee at Tynecastle tonight as the Jambos look to take a step closer to securing third place in the Premiership – and both sides have confirmed their starting XIs ahead of kick off.

The Jambos welcome back John Souttar after an ankle injury kept him out of their previous few games while Michael Smith and Craig Halkett remain on the sidelines.

Robbie Neilson’s side hold a ten-point cushion over Motherwell in fourth but know finishing third in the league could secure them European group stage football next season.

With Dundee sitting a point from safety, the Dens Park side need to start picking up points quickly – and will take some confidence from having picked up a draw on their last trip to Gorgie.

Dee boss James McPake knows he needs to turn things around if he is to remain in his ‘dream’ job, saying: “It’s a dream to be manager of this football club.

“We’ve won promotion but for every high there are lows. We have to fight and battle our way out of it.

“That’s what we’ll do.

“At the end of the day, it is a results-driven business and those relationships and conversations don’t mean a thing if we don’t pick up results.

“I’m not naïve enough to ignore that.

“Your only collateral as a manager is getting results and, at the minute, I’m not getting results.

“My sole aim is to turn that around.”
