How Dundee react to their late heartbreak against Celtic will define their season. It looked as if Jim McIntyre’s side were going to get a valuable point against in their battle against relegation, until Odsonne Edouard’s 96th minute goal gave Celtic a 1-0 win.
Dundee has every right to feel hard done by about the circumstances of the result. Conceding a goal in the 96th minute is a rarity in a game.
However, Jim McIntyre’s side don’t have time to feel sorry for themselves. They take on St Mirren in their first match after the international break.
The Dens Park side lead the Saints by a point at the bottom of the table, but St Mirren have a game in hand.
It is a game that the Dark Blues can’t afford to lose, or you would imagine they would be favourites to be relegated.
However, they should take great heart from their performance against Celtic. They more than matched the Scottish champions, and were very unfortunate not to get at least a point.
If Dundee take that attitude into the game against St Mirren, they should be capable of getting the three points. However, should they feel sorry for themselves, it will be a difficult few weeks ahead for the Dens Park side.
