Hibs’ Development Squad enjoyed a fantastic afternoon down south as they beat Brentford 2-0.

The young Hibees have beaten the likes of Celtic and St Mirren in recent weeks. They travelled to London to face the Bees for the latest round of development friendly matches.

Fraser Murray captained the side after his appearance against Celtic at the weekend. Elsewhere, Oli Shaw, Jamie Gullan and Josh Campbell were amongst the other names involved.

It was Shaw who got things going for Hibs. A counter-attack was finished off by his header to hand the Hibees a 1-0 lead 26 minutes into the first half.

Five minutes into the second half and Hibs had their second. A long ball upfield was misjudged by Brentford keeper Patrik Gunnarsson and Shaw was all too happy to take advantage, heading into an empty net.

There was no more scoring as the away side prepared for their trip back to Edinburgh with a win in the bag. It’s a decent result against a strong Championship side, especially away from home.

This is most definitely a positive afternoon for the Easter Road Development Squad.
