Aberdeen beat Hearts 3-2 in a thrilling match at Pittodrie on the first weekend of league action.
Sam Cosgrove had given the Dons the lead. Steven Naismith came off the bench to net the equaliser before playing his part in Hearts’ second.

Cosgrove stepped up again to bring Aberdeen level, before Ryan Hedges netted a vital winner with five minutes to spare.
It was the latter who really impressed again. Some Aberdeen fans have reacted to Hedges’ first league display in Aberdeen red.
Hedges has been brilliant for Aberdeen so far
Whilst this was perhaps one of his most significant Dons contributions, Hedges’ performance against the Jambos doesn’t come as a surprise.

The Welshman has been brilliant to watch during the Europa League qualifiers. His pace and dribbling ability have been too hot to handle for most teams he’s came up against.
Hedges has been brilliant so far for McInnes. Not even the man himself would have predicted such a fast rise to prominence in the north-east.
Now all he needs to do is keep it going. Should Hedges’ form continue over a sustained period of time, he’ll be massive for McInnes in attack. When he’s on the park, the Welshman starts many of Aberdeen’s attacking endeavors.

If he turns in performances like his first league display on a regular basis, expect big things from Hedges this term.
