Aberdeen picked up a controversial win in Perth yesterday to secure a third consecutive win as St Johnstone slipped to the foot of the Premiership table.
Teddy Jenks scored seven minutes from time to secure a 1-0 win at McDiarmid Park but the St Johnstone players felt it should have been ruled out for a handball in the build-up to his strike.

The Dons had several chances to break the deadlock before Jenks’ goal as Zander Clark kept the Pittodrie side at bay for much of the game.
Despite going bottom of the league, Saints boss Callum Davidson isn’t panicking and insists he still has faith in the group of players he has at the club – as well as looking to add reinforcements when the transfer window opens next month, saying: “I think that performance there shows that they are capable of beating anybody.
“I asked for a response from them and they gave me that. We need to keep that going.
“The togetherness we have, if we stick together and play like that we will be fine.
“Hopefully we add a couple of new faces in January but I believe in the group and what we are doing here.”
Ross County’s win over Dundee yesterday saw the Saints go bottom by the narrowest of margins and it seems unthinkable that last season’s double cup winners could go down this season.
However, things need to turn around quickly for Davidson and St Johnstone if they are to start climbing the table and get themselves out of a relegation fight.
Aberdeen manager Stephen Glass was delighted to see his side win three in a row for the first time since September, and thinks it was just what his side “needed” after a difficult run of results so far.
Glass was full of praise for St Johnstone’s performance despite their “difficult spell” as he expressed his happiness at seeing his players get the rewards he felt they’ve been due.

“It is something that we needed. Any time you win games, you jump the table pretty quickly,” Glass said.
“I am happy. I am delighted for the reward the players have got as well.
“It is easy to come here and not be at it and get beat. St Johnstone are a good team.
‘They are in a difficult spell at the minute, but you know it is tough here.”
