Ayr United extended their winning run to three games under interim manager Jim Duffy with a 2-0 win over Hamilton Accies, thanks to an inspired display from Hibs loanee Steven Bradley.
The Hibs attacker – who has joined the Scottish Championship club on a season-long loan – put his side ahead before he set up Tomi Adeloye for the second. It moves Ayr into sixth place in the Championship while Hamilton are ninth.

Within the first five minutes of the game, Accies had three close shots at goal from academy graduate Andy Ryan and Livingston loanee Josh Mullin. Accies continued to consistently apply pressure to Ayr’s defence in the first half.
Things became more balanced in the second half with both teams creating more chances at goal. Ayr were able to fight ahead 20 minutes into the second half as Bradley met the ball from Andrew Murdoch and the Hibs youngster slid it into the net.
He proceeded to create the winner minutes later, Bradley’s ball to Adeloye beating the Hamilton defence before the striker blasted home. Here are three things we learned.
Accies’ academy was on show again as five of their homegrown products made up the starting XI. One of the solutions to Accies’ performance issues could be to make the most out of these players, as life after relegation from the Premiership proves to be difficult in the early stages.
Under interim boss Duffy, Ayr United seem to be in good hands. There are issues to sort no doubt, but three wins from three since the departure of David Hopkin as manager provides optimism.
After being in the Premiership for seven years, many pondered whether Accies would be able to fight their way back up this season. but it’s appearing tough for the Lanarkshire side. They are creating chances, but if you’re unable to hit the, net none of that matters.
