Hearts Hampden hero Uche Ikpeazu has urged the Tynecastle support to get behind manager Craig Levein.

Levein has been suffering criticism from the Hearts support following some poor recent results, such as the 2-1 defeat to bitter rivals Hibs.

However, following the 3-0 Scottish Cup semi-final win over Inverness, Hearts’ opening scorer in the game has implored the fans to support Levein.

“I say to everyone: Just get off his back, you know?” Ikpeazu told the Scotsman. “He’s a good manager and a good person. Back him. He’s an amazing manager and an amazing person so stick by him.”

Ikpeazu’s words make sense. Surely it is time for all Hearts fans to join together and get behind the team ahead of next month’s cup final.

Time for club to unite

It is surely time for the club to unite, that would give the team the best chance of winning the cup for the first time in seven years.

A win would also mark Craig Levein’s first piece of silver wear as either a player or a manager, that is another reason to get behind the boss.

As for Ikpeazu, he excelled against Inverness, and didn’t give them a minute’s peace. He was a constant threat on the ball. Levein should be considering limiting how often he plays between now and the final to make sure he is fully fit for the Hampden clash.
