Aaron Hickey has ranked amongst stars from the likes of Barcelona, Liverpool, Manchester United and more in L’Equipe’s latest youngsters list.
The French publication has ranked the best 50 young players in world football. Ansu Fati of Barcelona tops the list while Manchester United star Mason Greenwood is ranked as the Premier League’s best youngster in eighth.

Liverpool men Harvey Elliot and Curtis Jones rank in the top 20 alongside players from Ajax, Borussia Dortmund, Arsenal, Rennes, Sporting Lisbon and more. There’s a place for Hickey too on the list.
He comes in at 45th after his move to Serie A with Bologna at the start of the season. He has featured 10 times for the Italian side since his move abroad from Hearts, where he made his football breakthrough a couple of seasons ago.
Aged 16, Craig Levein handed him his debut away to Celtic in the final Premiership game of the 2018/19 season, going on to give him a start in the Scottish Cup final versus the Hoops a week later. Hickey made 33 senior appearances overall for the Jambos.

Now he is recognised as one of the world’s most promising talents and there will likely be calls for his inclusion in the Scotland side in the coming months.
