Aberdeen chairman Dave Cormack has hit out at Sky Sports after their promotion of the Dons’ match with Celtic.

A six-goal thriller was played out at Pittodrie on Sunday afternoon. Lewis Ferguson put the home team ahead before Celtic equalised through Callum McGregor in the second half.

Goals would keep coming in the final 45, Ryan Hedges putting Aberdeen back in front before Celtic edged 3-2 ahead courtesy of Leigh Griffiths and Ryan Christie efforts, Ferguson again stepping up to hand the Dons a point with a 91st minute penalty.

Cormack wasn’t happy with how this clash was promoted by Sky Sports, who were broadcasting the match.

The broadcaster aired a 22-goal highlight reel that showed all of the Celtic goals during their eight consecutive wins at Pittodrie prior to the draw yesterday.

It caught Cormack’s eye and he wasn’t best pleased by it. He’s accused Sky of trying to ‘humiliate’ Aberdeen and thanked them for motivation against Celtic on Sunday afternoon.

“Really disappointed at Sky,” he posted on Twitter. “To spend all week creating a one-sided promo that tries to humiliate any club goes against Sky’s commitment to help promote & grow the SPFL.

“Thanks for the motivation & for showing our 3 goals today! By the way team name is spelt ABERDEEN! Apology on its way?”
