Aberdeen have confirmed the pre-contract signing of Motherwell defender Declan Gallagher on a two-year deal.
The defender was highly-sought after and attracted interest from clubs down south alongside former club Celtic according to reports. But he has now sealed his latest move, switching to Pittodrie as he becomes Stephen Glass’ second signing as Aberdeen manager.

Gallagher shares an agent with Scott Brown, the Celtic captain also opting for a move to Pittodrie on a two-year deal. Now a Scotland international, Gallagher joined Motherwell in 2019 from Livingston.
He succeeded Peter Hartley as captain at the start of this season and has made 72 appearances overall for the Fir Park club. Gallagher will move on at the end of the season and play European football with Aberdeen next season, the defender currently vying for a place in Steve Clarke’s Euro 2020 squad.
Both Aberdeen and Motherwell have two games left in their respective Scottish Premiership seasons.
