Aberdeen have confirmed the signing of defender Zak Vyner ahead of tonight’s massive Europa League tie with NK Rijeka in Croatia – and Dons fans are
The defender moves to Pittodrie on a season-long loan from Bristol City and could make his debut tonight after being added the squad in time, with the Dons confirming his availability on their official Twitter account.
The 22-year-old spent last season on loan with Rotherham United and is comfortable in a number of positions so should offer some versatility for Dons boss Derek McInnes.
With McInnes’ side short of defensive numbers after injuries to several key players, the Dons really needed some reinforcements brought in quickly.

Whether he makes his debut in tonight’s clash with Rijeka remains to be seen but it’s interesting that McInnes has moved to register him immediately and have him travel to Croatia.
Vyner’s arrival at Pittodrie seems to have also prompted some Dons fans to view him as a replacement for Scott McKenna as the Scotland star’s future remains up in the air.
