Aberdeen gave up their unbeaten Premiership record as they lost on the road at St Mirren.

The Buddies started brilliantly and earned the lead their play deserved with a route one goal, Ellery Balcombe’s long ball up the park allowing Toyosi Olusanya to get the better of Slobodan Rubezic and Gavin Molloy and apply the finish.

Moments later there was a potential blow when Alex Gogic was initially red carded for a heavy challenge on Shayden Morris. But after a VAR review and watch the replays several times, referee John Beaton downgraded to a yellow.

Aberdeen improved before half-time but it wasn’t until after the break they got their equaliser.

Duk was the instigator, bursting down the left before finding Kevin Nisbet whose effort was saved but allowed Jamie McGrath to net on the rebound.

But Stephen Robinson’s side plugged away until the end and got themselves back in front, Richard Taylor rising the highest to get on the end of Mark O’Hara’s corner.

Ross County earn big win over Motherwell

Motherwell have been very impressive this season but came unstuck on the road to Dingwall, a very impressive 2-1 win for Ross County.

They raced into a two-goal lead early in the second half, Ronan Hale breaking the deadlock by guiding a deflected shot past Aston Oxborough.

Joshua Nisbet then scored his first Staggies goal and it was a beauty, bending one into the corner from 20 yards.

Motherwell could only find one in reply and Lennon Miller was once again the provider, his set piece delivery headed in by Zach Robinson. The goal was finally given after a lengthy VAR check.

St Johnstone leapfrog Kilmarnock with victory and Dundee United get Ibrox point

In Perth, St Johnstone managed a home win over Kilmarnock which took them above Derek McInnes’ side in the table.

Makenzie Kirk, son of assistant manager Andy, managed his second Premiership goal of the season to give his side the three points, a lovely glancing header from Andre Raymond’s cross.

Killie were reduced to ten men late on with Liam Donnelly shown a second yellow for a high boot. Remarkably, that was their FIFTH red card of the season.

Meanwhile, Dundee United managed to take a point from their game against Rangers at Ibrox.

Sam Dalby gave the Tangerines a dream half-time lead, totally unmarked to head home Vicko Sevelj’s deep cross at the back post.

But Rangers managed to earn a point despite a below-par performance, Vaclav Cerny the scorer.
