Aberdeen full-back Greg Leigh has said he is surprised at how quickly the Dons’ summer signings have come together effectively.
Leigh himself joined from Dutch side NAC Breda earlier in the summer. He is one of many signings, including Craig Bryson, Jon Gallagher, Ryan Hedges, Curtis Main, Ash Taylor and Funso Ojo.

He’s been at clubs where a summer revamp hasn’t worked, so it’s a nice surprise for him to see all the new faces working together so quickly.
Leigh told the Daily Record: “I am a little bit surprised as I have been involved in teams before that have brought in a lot of players, especially last year and the year before, and it didn’t work as well.
“I’m excited by the fact a lot of the players are just good people to hang around with outside football. That really helps bringing the dressing room together to work hard for each other. It’s helped with understanding how each other plays and how we can work to our strengths.

“That is the difference to my previous clubs, at this club they put their egos aside and work as a unit.”
Leigh is clearly loving his fresh surroundings in Aberdeen
Judging by his comments, it seems like Leigh has had an issue with new faces at previous clubs.
What is seemingly appealing to him is the togetherness of this Aberdeen squad. He can see it on a daily basis, but it’s clear to the fans as well that this team are a unified set of players.

They seem to know each other inside-out, despite being relatively unfamiliar with each other. The signings, along with the boys already at the club, have lead Aberdeen to five games without defeat.
Not only have they not tasted defeat, but they are playing some excellent stuff too. Aberdeen are a real exciting watch right now and that’s partly down to the contributions of the new faces.
Leigh is clearly loving life in Aberdeen. You can see that in his performances. Leigh’s been solid in defence, whilst also contributing effectively to the attack from left-back.

The Dons are motoring right now. Both Leigh and everyone involved with the Dons will hope it continues for a lengthy period of time.
