Serie A side Bologna have made their move for Aberdeen defender Calvin Ramsay, according to a report, offering £3.5million to the Dons for the Scotland under-21 cap.
The Scottish Sun report that the Dons will have to make a decision over whether they want to keep hold of the young defender or pocket a club record fee from the Italians.
Leicester, Manchester United, Spurs, Southampton and Leeds were all in attendance at Pittodrie earlier this week when Aberdeen faced Rangers but they will have to make a move quickly if they are to stop him joining Aaron Hickey at Bologna.
Dons chief Dave Cormack has previously insisted that the Pittodrie side don’t need to sell players this month but conceded that every player has their price, saying lasy month: “We certainly haven’t had any contact from any clubs about any young players, Calvin Ramsay or otherwise. But the window is coming up so I’m guessing we’ll see.
“If the right price comes along for the right player and we have the ability to replace that player then it is something we would look at. But players will go not just if it’s right for them, but if it’s right for the club as well.
“In saying that, we don’t need to sell players in January, I can tell you that right now. We certainly don’t need to sell players in January and we won’t be encouraging any last-minute window approaches for the sake of us being unable to replace players.”
