Aberdeen star Christian Ramirez has taken to Twitter to point the finger at Hibernian star Ryan Porteous after the Hibees won 1-0 at Easter Road in last night’s Premiership clash thanks to a goal from the defender.
Porteous and Ramirez were involved in a spat in the first 45 with the Easter Road star appearing to aim a kick at the American as both were on the deck.
Porteous would avoid a red card for the incident before going on to net the winner in Shaun Maloney’s first game in charge of Hibernian but the former Houston Dynamo striker remained far from impressed.
The striker tweeted the clip showing the flashpoint saying the kick “seems unintentional?” with a string of emojis at the end of it.
Porteous has come in for criticism for his physical style of play in the last 12 months – although former Hibs manager Jack Ross pointed to his disciplinary record as evidence he wasn’t a dirty player.
While there are definitely a few around the league who would disagree with Ross, what is worse is that the referee appeared to be looking right at it and saw nothing in it.
The defender has six bookings and a red card from his 16 Premiership appearances this season, the worst disciplinary record of any player in the top flight.
It’ll be interesting to see whether any retrospective action is taken against Porteous now that the compliance officer appears to have sprung back into life.
While it seems unlikely, Hibs could end up being without the Scotland defender when they face Celtic in the first game back after the winter break.
