Aberdeen striker Florian Kamberi won’t discuss former manager Neil Lennon

Aberdeen striker Florian Kamberi is keeping his cards close to his chest regarding the struggles faced by his former manager at Hibs, Neil Lennon, ahead of a meeting with his Celtic side.

Lennon has been under plenty of pressure this season. Celtic have failed to mount a challenge to Rangers and currently find themselves 18 points behind the Premiership leaders.

Badly in need of a result in Glasgow

Now Kamberi and Lennon are set to reunite at Celtic Park on Wednesday. Aberdeen travel to Glasgow badly in need of a win.

However, Kamberi isn’t saying much about the prospect of coming up against his former manager. Instead, he is concentrating on his own form, and Aberdeen’s form.

“That’s usual, if you do not get the results or wins everyone gets on you, and you have pressure and stuff but to be honest that’s not my business. I will leave that with him and Celtic to sort out” he said.

“Focus on myself”

“I have not followed Celtic very much this season, I saw that they are maybe not like they were last season, but that can happen in football. They would love to be in another situation, but it is how it is. I will focus on myself and on Aberdeen and not on anybody else” Kamberi concluded.

Wednesday night’s game is an important one for Aberdeen. The Dons go into the match at Celtic Park in a poor run of form. They haven’t scored a goal in their last five league games.

Manager Derek McInnes is under pressure, the same kind that Neil Lennon has found himself under. Kamberi will be looking to help Aberdeen get back on track at Celtic Park. That could be a reason why he is only concentrating on Aberdeen, and not on the past.
