Aberdeen have announced that Jon Gallagher will remain at Pittodrie until the end of the season.
The Atlanta United man has played in a variety of positions for Derek McInnes. He’s been a handy player and has featured regularly at his adopted club this year.
Overall he’s made 27 appearances, scoring once and assisting on three occasions. Gallagher’s strike was a memorable goal against Rangers in a game which Aberdeen battled from 2-0 down to earn a 2-2 draw.
He’ll remain at Pittodrie until the end of the season. Capable of playing in most areas of the park, the MLS export can play in central midfield, on the flanks, behind the striker and even at right-back.
It’s a further boost for McInnes after he secured midfielder Dylan McGeouch earlier in the week. The Dons boss is currently putting his squad through their paces over in Dubai.
This means Gallagher will be available for Aberdeen’s Scottish Cup match with Dumbarton. The Dons made the semi-finals of the competition last year and will look to go one better this year.
