Aberdeen’s Lewis Ferguson might have been named man of the match in his team’s recent 2-0 win over Kilmarnock, but the 21-year-old didn’t think he performed well in the game.
Ferguson was making only his second start after a period out of the side having to self-isolate after being named as a close contact of a Covid-19 sufferer.
Wasn’t pleased with aspects of performance
Even though the Dons won the game at Rugby Park, Ferguson wasn’t pleased with aspects of his performance. However, he hopes he can improve with more playing time, starting on Wednesday night against Motherwell.

“I did not feel as though I was at my best on Sunday. I did not feel as sharp as normal. That will come with getting more games under my belt” he said.
“It was nice to get the man of the match award, but it is not about me, it is about the team. As I say I did not feel as though I was at my best. I did not feel as good on the ball” Ferguson concluded.
Player will be striving to improve
Derek McInnes will be pleased to hear that Ferguson was not satisfied despite a man of the match award, and wants to get better. That bodes well for his performances going forward.

The recent game against Kilmarnock was a personal milestone for the player. He played his 100th match for the Pittodrie club.
“It was nice to play my 100th game for the club on Sunday. And 100 starts. I have enjoyed every minute of it. I think everyone can see that. It has been good for me, it has been good for my development” he said.
