As it stands, eight players are currently set to the leave Aberdeen in the summer of 2025.
Kevin Nisbet’s loan from Millwall will expire, while the likes of Angus MacDonald, Ross Doohan and Tom Ritchie are more likely to depart Pittodrie than stay.
Doohan may be able to convince Aberdeen chiefs of a new deal if he performs well in place of the injured Dimitar Mitov, however.
But Aberdeen fans are more concerned by the futures of Jamie McGrath, Duk and Jack MacKenzie – all of whom have been key players for the Dons this season.
Aberdeen held their AGM on Monday and the club’s CEO Alan Burrows addressed to shareholders that all three aforementioned stars are in talks over extended deals.

Jamie McGrath, Duk & Jack MacKenzie in Aberdeen contract talks
As quoted in the Daily Record, Burrows said: “We remain in good dialogue with those players and would like those players to stay at Aberdeen Football Club. But we have also got to factor in Aberdeen and our squad planning for January and in the summer.
“The dialogue remains open and we hope that they will stay. But if in the scenario that they don’t and leave at the end of their contracts, we are planning in advance of that.”
He added: “We are also trying to manage the contracts of players not only out of contract this summer but the following summer. Ante would fall into that bracket.
“He has made a really good impact so far and for a large part of the season has been in competition with two of our very best performers in Sivert Heltne Nilsen and Graeme Shinnie.
“But I think in the times he has played he has made an impression on everybody so that is a situation we will continue to monitor for sure.”
Who will stay at Aberdeen?
It was reported in November by the Daily Record that Duk is one of the three ‘unlikely’ to remain at Aberdeen beyond 2025.
As for McGrath and MacKenzie, we know manager Jimmy Thelin is keen for them both to pen new deals, but it has been said keeping them both could be a ‘challenge’ for the club.
Palaversa is actually out of contract this summer too but Aberdeen hold the option to extend his deal by two years if they wish.
