Former Scotland boss Alex McLeish reckons the national team are in for a tough test this evening as he praised Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay.
Steve Clarke’s side are in Serbia tonight for a Euro 2020 play-off final which could seal Scotland’s first entry into a major tournament since 1998. The likes of Manchester United’s battler will need to be at the top of their game to achieve success.

The Serbians have players from Ajax to Real Madrid and possess quality all over the park. They have been hit with a blow pre-match though with Crystal Palace skipper Luka Milivojevic missing due to a positive Covid-19 test.
Regardless, McLeish reckons Scotland are in for a difficult night, praising McTominay’s transition from a midfielder into a centre-back.
“We’ve all got to be optimistic and say, ‘it’s now or never,’ said McLeish (Sky Sports). “Although it’s not now or never, because there have been great signs over the past few weeks.

“But it’s a tough team and a tough place to go to. They’ve got guys like Aleksandar Mitrovic and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, a young guy I had at Genk. He’s in the form of his life as well, so they’re very dangerous players.
“Big McTominay going back into the centre-back position has been a great move for us as well. It shows you he’s versatile, he can move into midfield and add a new dimension to his game.”
