Considine admitted that so poor was the performance in the cup that the players were angry and some home truths were spoken in the wake of the loss.

“Our standards fell well short of where they need to be To turn up at St Mirren, in such an important cup game, and to perform like that, it is unacceptable” he said (Aberdeen).

“A sore one to take”

“We have managed to get to cup finals and semi-finals over the past six or seven years so it was a sore one to take. There has been words had. I am sure things will be different when we cross that white line on Saturday. The fans will look at our attitude and passion. As players and staff we need to produce that” he continued.
