Hearts midfielder Andy Halliday hopes that fellow Tynecastle midfielder Andy Irving can agree a new contract with the Tynecastle club.
Irving has been excellent for Robbie Neilson’s side this season. The 20-year-old has been an integral part of the team which sits top of the Championship table.
No contract agreed yet
However, as it stands his contract expires at the end of the season. As yet, despite talks with the player, Hearts have not yet been able to agree a new deal.

Halliday, who admits he didn’t know a lot about the player before moving to Tynecastle, hopes that a deal is agreed as soon as possible to keep Irving at Hearts.
“I’ll hold my hands up and say he is someone that I didn’t know too much about before coming to the football club” he said.
“Keep our best players”
“I knew that he had played some games for Hearts, but I hadn’t watched an awful lot of him. Being at Hearts, I want to keep our best players. He certainly fits the bill.”

Halliday has been impressed with how Irving has performed as the season has gone on.
“Andy has progressed throughout the season. At the start, he was finding himself but around November he really grabbed a hold of that jersey. Hopefully Hearts can get that done” Halliday concluded.
Weather permitting, Hearts are set to take on Queen of the South tonight as they bid to extend their lead at the top of the Championship table. The duo of Halliday and Irving might well continue what has been a successful midfield partnership.
