Liverpool full-back Andy Robertson has disclosed that he is still thinking about the wonder goal that he almost scored in midweek against RB Leipzig.
His lob in the first-half landed on the roof of the net, as he came close to scoring what would have been the best goal of his career.
In fact, Robertson jokingly informed Jurgen Klopp that had he scored the goal he would have walked off the pitch!
“I’d have walked off”
“Still thinking about it, to be honest! I told the gaffer after the game if that went in I’d have walked off, so he’d have had to probably make a sub” he said (official Liverpool website).

If you were to put a list of who was going to score a worldie like that in that game, I’d have probably just been behind Alisson. So it was good to maybe surprise a few that I came close, but I’d have much preferred it went under the bar instead of over” Robertson remarked.
Looking for momentum to continue
Following the 2-0 win over Leipzig Liverpool return to league action this evening in the Merseyside derby against Everton.

With both teams in the battle for a top four place, Robertson is looking to continue the momentum gained from the win over Leipzig.
“Hopefully we can get three points on Saturday because it’s much needed, we’re quite far behind in the league, and we need to get back to winning games. It’s as simple as that. The next one in front of us is always the most important, and we’ll go into the game with that attitude” Robertson concluded.
