Championship side Arbroath have made an interesting signing in their bid to avoid relegation to League One. They have signed Hearts winger Lewis Moore on loan for the rest of the season. Hearts are, of course, currently at the top of the Championship table.
Moore has not been able to make a breakthrough to the Hearts side this season. He has started one game, a 3-1 Betfred Cup group stage win over Raith in October. In the league, he has made the bench once, for the 3-1 loss to Dundee at the start of January.
Signed new deal in June
However, the player must still be thought of quite highly at Tynecastle, as he signed a new contract with Hearts in June (Edinburgh Evening News). As he has not made many first-team appearances though, the club and player must have agreed that it would be best to leave on loan for the second-half of the season.

The move could be the making of the player. That is presumably what Robbie Neilson will be hoping. Arbroath are currently in the middle of a battle to keep their place in the Championship. As it stands they are in ninth place, two points above bottom of the table Alloa.
Move could boost player’s first-team chances
If Moore can help Arbroath away from the relegation with a series of good performances then that could boost the player’s chances of featuring for Hearts next season.

No doubt Robbie Neilson will be keeping a close watch on how the 22-year-old performs for the rest of the season. Moore could make his Arbroath debut on Wednesday night, when they face Inverness.
