Arbroath keeper Derek Gaston has been appointed as an Academy coach with Premiership champions Rangers as he looks to combine playing and coaching.
The shotstopper has been integral to the Red Lichties promotion push this season and will join the Auchenhowie staff to work with the Light Blues youngsters.

Gaston will work alongside the likes of ex-Gers keeper Graeme Smith in the Gers’ Academy as he looks to make his mark with Rangers.
“I’m delighted to get this chance,” Gaston said.
“We’ve got a lot of promising youngsters coming through the ranks.
“My job is to develop them into the best they can be and aim for the very top.”
So far this season, Gaston has kept 11 clean sheets for Dick Campbell’s side as they lead the push for the Premiership.
If the Arbroath can manage to secure promotion this season, it could see Gaston in the odd position of playing for one club against another – with both paying his wages for different roles.
