Fans have been left excited by the thought of Hibs v Arsenal at Easter Road this summer – although those south of the border are keen to see Josh Doig in action.

The pair will meet at Easter Road on July 13th for a friendly as part of the Scotland camp Arsenal have prepared. They were already scheduled to play Rangers at Ibrox but now Edinburgh will be another stop on the Premier League club’s tour.

Matt Macey joined Hibs from Arsenal in the winter transfer window while Doig has been linked with a summer move to the Emirates following his form in Leith this term. He has won the Scottish Football Writers Association’s Young Player of the Year award for his breakthrough campaign.

Hibs finished third in the Scottish Premiership this season and have a Scottish Cup final with St Johnstone to look forward to. But some – on both sides of the border – are already looking forward to the summer meeting with.
