Kilmarnock chief Billy Bowie has commented on the scenes that have dominated headlines in the wake of Kilmarnock and Rangers’ controversy charged clash.

The game finished 2-1 to the Ibrox club, but off the pitch incidents have became the main talking point in the wake of this fixture.

Rangers’ last minute celebrations caused the collapse of a disabled section. Before the game, there was a dangerous crush outside the ground according to the Daily Record.

Bowie wants to get to the bottom of the various flashpoints that marred the match. He also wants both Kilmarnock and Rangers to work on the case.

He told the Daily Record: “There are loads of claims and counterclaims flying around so we’ve decided to have a meeting with all the authorities and everybody involved to find out what went wrong.

“Something was clearly not right as there were more people there than the amount of tickets sold. So we will have an investigation into everything that went on to make sure it’s put right.”

Kilmarnock and Rangers must ensure this never happens again

There were so many incidents during the match at Rugby Park. All of them are completely unacceptable and Bowie is right to ask for unity in the aftermath of it all.

One disabled fan was, according to STV, treated on site for minor injuries. Thankfully there were no serious injuries, but from the crush outside to the roof collapse, this could have ended horribly.

It’s the first weekend of the Premiership and already we are talking about trouble off the pitch. Everybody has to face this and deal with the problems.

There are so many things around this game, from both Kilmarnock and Rangers’ side. Both clubs have to investigate their own problems, but it’d be good if they could come together to work on ways to deal with this situation.

The SPFL have to take notice of this situation and take action in appropriate fashion. The sad truth is, it’s very unlikely that they’ll do anything about this.

What will it take before the authorities take action to prevent incidents like this from happening on a regular basis?
