Transfer speculation over Hearts academy graduate Aaron Hickey has all but ended, with Bologna sporting director Walter Sabatini sending a clear message to clubs like Celtic.
Hickey made his Hearts debut aged 16 against Celtic, having progressed through the academy ranks at Tynecastle, following time in the Parkhead youth system. He has been linked with a move back to Glasgow this summer from his current club in Serie A. Fiorentina are also said to want Hickey.

The teenager joined Bologna from Hearts last summer, despite Celtic interest. Ange Postecoglou’s side are said to be keen on Hickey again but sporting director Sabatini says the former Hearts full-back will be a Bologna player this season (SP): “Hickey is a Bologna player, and despite the interest of many clubs, he will 100% remain here.
“Last season was a short one for him because of injury but he has already shown us the great qualities he possesses as a player. Bologna are betting a lot on him, and he stays with us.”
