Matt Butcher and Isaiah Jones have left Bournemouth and Middlesbrough respectively for experience- and McDiarmid Park is where they’ll find it.

The Cherries and Boro men have left their respective clubs to join St Johnstone on loan. They’ll both remain in Perth until the end of the season.

Butcher is a midfielder who has had previous loan spells in the non-league down south. He also had a spell with Yeovil Town whilst they were in League Two.

Jones meanwhile is a highly-rated talent at the Riverside. He was recently named the Premier League Two Player of the Month for December and now Saints have moved in to claim his signature.

His previous experience comes with non-league side Tooting & Mitcham. Both players could feature for Tommy Wright today as the Perthshire Saints host Hearts in a big battle at the bottom.

A Jambos win could move Daniel Stendel’s side off the bottom. It’s a game Wright will be eager to win too, as a win could take them nine clear of 12th, whilst defeat could drag them three points above the relegation zone.
