The official Bundesliga Twitter account has given a slightly surreal nod to Motherwell striker Tony Watt after a clip of Borussia Dortmund phenomenon Erling Haaland performing some sort of sorcery went viral.

The Norwegian superstar piled three balls on top of each other before striking a target thing from a crossbar – even succeeding in hitting the target once he’d already obliterated most of it.

After one fan asked if the Norwegian could do it on a “freezing cauld raining night at Dingwall”, the Bundesliga account retorted with the nod to Watt, saying Haaland wasn’t in the same league as the ‘Well striker but they thought he’d do fine in Dingwall.

Watt has had a fantastic start to the season for the Steelmen, scoring four goals in eight games for Graham Alexander’s side as Motherwell sit fourth in the Premiership ahead of this weekend’s games.

The former Celtic striker’s form has even seen some calls for him to win a Scotland call-up – although it seems unlikely that he’ll be forcing his way into Steve Clarke’s plans in the short-term.

While the Bundesliga Twitter accounts firmly had its tongue planted in their cheek when they mentioned Watt, we’re sure Graham Alexander wouldn’t have too many complaints at having Haaland available for his side this weekend when they welcome Celtic to Fir Park.
