Dundee United have announced that attacker Cammy Smith has left the club his contract is going to expire. However, it wasn’t long before it was confirmed that he was found a new club. Smith has signed for Ayr United until the end of the season.
The attacker has been at Tannadice since 2019, and in that time he scored four goals for the club. However, this season the 25-year-old struggled to make the United first-team. As a result, he spent the first-half of the season on-loan at Ayr United.
Scored in big win over rivals
Whilst at Ayr, he scored three goals in nine games, which is a more than decent return. Smith will likely be remembered most fondly by United fans for his goal in the 6-2 win over city rivals Dundee in August 2019.

After performing well for Ayr on loan, it is no surprise that the Championship side were keen to snap Smith up for the rest of the campaign.
Won a major trophy
It should be remembered that Smith has the experience of playing in big games. He featured for Aberdeen when they won the League Cup Final in 2014 against Inverness.
