Liam Craig is taking little notice of Celtic form as St Johnstone head into a ‘difficult’ match at Parkhead this afternoon.

The form between these two couldn’t be any more contrasting ahead of this fixture. Celtic have won just twice in 11 games, cranking pressure up on manager Neil Lennon, Callum Davidson’s Saints unbeaten in 10.

Buoyed by League Cup progression last weekend against Motherwell, the Saints are in high spirts. But despite the fact they are playing a Celtic side low in confidence, experienced midfielder Craig says this bout will be a challenge.

“It’s going to be difficult, it always is at Celtic Park,” said Craig (Saints TV). “A lot has been made of how Celtic are playing and their results.

“But they have still got a top, top team. It’s important that we go there with a plan and we stick to it. We need to get our attacking players on the ball and see where we can hurt Celtic.

“We need to be defensively solid like we have shown over the season. When we get chances, we need to take them, as the chances can be few and far between. You are playing against top players.”
